KAMPALA: President of the Republic of Uganda HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni underlined promoting cooperation between Qatar and Uganda.

This came during His Excellency's meeting with the Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari on the margin of the 'East Africa Investment Forum and Trade Exhibition' held in Kampala, Uganda.

President Museveni stressed the importance of enhancing economic and trade relations between the two countries, affirming his country's keenness on developing and attracting Qatari investments to Uganda.

Meanwhile, the Ugandan Minister of Finance HE Matia Kasaija met with QC First Vice-Chairman on the sidelines of the forum.

The meeting discussed the strengthening of cooperation between Qatar's private sector and its Ugandan counterpart, as well as the investment opportunities available in Uganda across several important sectors.

The Forum was held on the sideline of the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit and the G77 + China Summit.

Held under the theme 'Deeper Cooperation in Trade, Tourism, and Investment for Shared Global Affluence,' the East Africa Investment Forum and Trade Exhibitionaimed to create trade, tourism, investment, and technology transfer opportunities. It seeks to promote investment opportunities in key sectors such as tourism, agri-value addition, mineral beneficiation, oil and gas, ICT, infrastructure development, real estate, and services.
