One India Association (OIA), affiliated to the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) under the aegis of the Indian Embassy in Qatar, recently declared the winners of its first edition of 'Award of Excellence' for Indians in Qatar. The award is to recognise Indians for their contribution to the Indian community in Qatar, especially those in the field of media, professional sector, social service and sports.Nominations were invited from the public through its website.
The winners declared were Faisal al Hudawi (Media), Dr Nizar Kochery (Excellence in Professional Sector), Safeeru Rahman Kunkanchery (Sports), and Abdu Salaam Kallivalappil (Social Service).
