The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has amended the school return plan. The ministry will implement a mixed learning system during the first semester of the academic year 2020-21 in all educational stages of public and private schools, kindergartens and higher education institutions.

Accordingly, e-learning is combined with classroom learning in one framework.

The amendment came after coordination with the Ministry of Public Health regarding the necessary precautionary measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
According to the mixed learning system, students are required to attend the classes one to three times a week, while maintaining an attendance rate of about 30 percent of the total number of students in the school per day. The aim is to do some basic classes and doing practical experiments in laboratories.

The schools are obligated to divide the total number of students so that the number of students in each division does not exceed 15 and there should be a minimum distance of  1.5 metres between student and his classmate.

The “distance learning” system will be applied on days when students do not come to the school building according to the schedule planned by the ministry. The mixed education system includes students conducting mid-term and end-of-semester exams in the school building through a schedule organised by schools and ensuring social distancing between students.

During the first three days of the school (from September 1 to September 3), schools are required to educate students about the precautionary measures. Preparatory and high school students required only to wear a mask (a cloth mask).

In addition, students will be handed over a rotating time schedule during the first semester, which clarify the days when students must work in the school building and the days that they will receive distance learning.

Schools are also obligated to regulate the entry and exit of students to the school building to prevent crowding and take into account social distancing, in addition to canceling the morning queue and group activities such as trips, camps and celebrations and turning them into virtual if possible.

The ministry issued a circular to university administrators and presidents regarding student attendance, whereby it was decided that attendance would be gradual in universities.

So that during the first three months period (from September to the end of November) there will be an attendance rate of 30. There will be mixed learning system with adherence to physical distancing between students.

With the need to achieve a spacing of students by one and a half meters - as a minimum - from each side, and to provide comprehensive awareness to them and staff within the university in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health.
