Nearly 51,000 seabream fish, each weighing around 5 kilograms, were released into the Qatari waters as part of a restocking programme spearheaded by the Ministry of Municipality and Environmental Affairs.
The released fish were raised at the Aquatic Fisheries Research Center in Ras Matbakh. And they were released in batches 21,000 and 30,000.
MME plans to release around 200,000 seabream fish under the supervision of the Aquatic Research Centre's team, in accordance with scientific and environmental specifications and standards that ensure the availability of appropriate conditions for growth and nutrition and protection from predators.
