Qatar has designated two individuals and four entities as targets in a terror-support network list for helping transfer funds to Islamic State fighters in Syria and other parts of the world.
The individuals are: Abdul Rahman Ali Hassan Al Ahmad Al Rawi and Syed Habib Ahmed Khan.
The entities are: Al-Haram Exchange Company, Al-Khalidi Exchange Company, Tawasul Company and Najat Social Welfare Organization.
They are designated as targets in the Terrorism-Financing Targeting Centre (TFTC) list.
Qatar is one of the member states of the Riyadh-based centre, which also includes other members of the Gulf Cooperation council and the United States.
“These companies and their operators have played an important role in transferring funds to support ISIS fighters in Syria and have also provided thousands of dollars to ISIS leaders in various parts of the world,” a statement said.
"Therefore, the statement was issued in a unified manner from the terrorist financing targeting centre in Riyadh, knowing that this listing is the fifth of its kind, so that the number of listed persons exceeds 60 individuals and entities, in agreement between the member states of the centre."
With the participation of the member states, the centre would continue to make efforts to pursue terrorist-financing cells worldwide, it added
