The inspections come after Qatar relaxed some of the restrictions it has imposed to contain the spread of COVID-19. With more now choosing to go to beaches, especially during the weekend, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), in cooperation with the General Cleanliness Department, the Natural Reserves Department and the Public Relations Department, had conducted a comprehensive public campaign at all beaches to raise awareness about the Public Hygiene Law.
According to Al Shamal Municipality, the inspections resulted in the detection of several violations. According to the municipal authorities, necessary legal actions have been taken against the violators.
