The Turkish Airlines has increased the number of weekly flights from Istanbul to Doha from two to five in July after resuming operations to the Qatari capital on June 15.
Having returned to the skies after a COVID-19-induced hiatus, Turkey's national carrier now operates 1,528 flights to 160 domestic and international destinations.
With the resumption of its services, the airline has also announced “flexible travel opportunities” for people who have booked flights with the carrier.
"Passengers can make unlimited changes for ticketings made between March 21, 2020, and August 31, 2020,” Turkish Airlines said on its website.
As per the information available on the portal, domestic and international tickets purchased in the specified time frame can be exchanged for another flight taking place by December 31, 2021, or change the ticket to an open ticket for use on another date. Passengers can make unlimited changes on tickets booked between these dates and no fee will be charged for the changes, it added.
Listing the terms and conditions, the airline said a ticket change can be made for a different destination, provided that the fare difference is paid. Change requests can be performed through the Turkish Airlines sales offices, call centre, online channels and the agencies from which the ticket was purchased.
In order to change the ticket to an open ticket, the carrier said the reservation must be cancelled before the date of flight and the cancellations must be performed via the Turkish Airlines call centre, sales offices, or the agencies from which the ticket was purchased.
Fare differences incurred by taxes, exchange rates or fare class differences will be applied, it added.
Turkish Airline has also issued a set of guidelines to passengers for safe travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“At Turkish Airlines, our priority is to make sure that you, our dear guests, have a safe and comfortable journey. We want you to feel safe and comfortable during your travels. As the Turkish national flag carrier, we have specified new criteria and taken new measures in all our procedures together with health authorities, drawing on the experience of Turkey's successful fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.”
