Work sites of 84 companies in Qatar were closed for three days for violating a ban on outdoor midday work.
The violations were detected during inspections made by the Labour Inspection Department of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs between June 18 and July 2.
On June 9, ministry issued a circular banning outdoor work from 11:30 am to 3 pm between June 15 and August 31. The ministry also stipulated that outside work done under the sun or in open workplaces should not be longer than five hours in the morning.
Field visits by the Ministry's inspectors to the workplaces during the hours in which work is prohibited during the period from June 18, 2020 to July 2, 2020 resulted in the seizure of 84 companies, and the sites of the violating companies were closed for a period of three days due to their violation of the aforementioned Ministerial Decision.
