Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education dismissed as incorrect "various scenarios" being discussed on social media for the next academic year in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a tweet published on Saturday, the ministry said, "(As regards) what has been circulated on social media platforms about the scenarios for the next academic year in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic; the Ministry of Education and Higher Education confirms that this news is not true . We ask you to obtain information from our official sources."
In May, the ministry had said that the academic year 2020-21 will officially begin on August 19, 2020, for teaching and non-teaching staff and on September 1, 2020, for students.
