Save for a few, all previously-restricted commercial activities and services can resume operations from Thursday, in line with the latest Cabinet decision.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said commercial establishments can operate during the weekdays (Sunday to Thursday) from 7 am to 8 pm.
While some of the services and activities are still banned, the time restriction does not apply to the following categories:
Outlets selling food products, consumer goods, and subsidised supplies such as hypermarkets, supermarkets and grocery stores; pharmacies; factories; e-commerce firms; telecommunications companies; companies operating in the hospitality sector; workshops; fuel stations and bakeries
Also excluded from the decision are restaurants, cafeterias and cafes and restaurants and cafes located in commercial complexes in addition to maintenance companies, electronics, contracting and engineering supervision companies, logistics services companies and freight companies operating in ports and airports
On the other hand, the decision to close retail stores in commercial complexes, popular markets and shopping centers will continue to apply, with the exception of food outlets and pharmacies.
The prohibition on beauty salons and home services provided by them also continues to remain in effect.
