The parents of children studying in private schools and kindergartens in Qatar are not required to pay the fees for the first semester in full before the start of the next academic year, Ministry of Education and Higher Education has said.
They need to pay only a portion of it as seat reservation fee before the school starts, Al Watan newspaper quoted a ministerial circular as saying.
The seat reservation fee is part of the semester fee and the schools and kindergartens cannot charge one on top of the other, the report added, citing the circular.
According to the daily, the circular requested the private school and kindergarten managements to give the parents at least two weeks from the date of receipt of the letter of intent to pay the seat reservation fees.
The circular stated that the school or kindergarten has the right to grant the seat to another student (on the waiting list) in the event that the guardian continues to not pay the seat reservation fee
