Prayers at mosques in Qatar continue to remain suspended, the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs clarified in a tweet on Thursday.
Some infographics circulating on social media about the safe practices in the mosques are aimed at creating awareness on safety against COVID-19 when the circumstances become favourable to open the mosques, the ministry said.
Mosques in Qatar closed their doors temporarily as part of measures to contain the spread of coronavirus in April, but continue to issue the ritual call to prayer, which will direct people to pray in their homes rather than come to the mosque.
The Imam Muhammad Ibn Abd Al Wahhab Mosque is exempt and continues to offer prayers but only for 40 people, including its imams and mosque employees.
