A special flight that was supposed to fly out with 181 Indian expatriates from Doha to Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday evening but was called off minutes before its 4pm departure has been rescheduled for Tuesday (May 12).
People who have booked tickets to travel on the Air India Express flight IX-374 are required to reconfirm their travel plans with the Embassy of India in Qatar on Monday, the mission said.
In a tweet published at 10:42 pm on Sunday, the Embassy of India in Qatar said, "Unfortunately, IX-374 scheduled for today from Doha to Thiruvananthapuram was cancelled for technical reasons. Being rescheduled for 12 May 2020. Passengers already booked for the flight to reconfirm tomorrow. Those with exit permit issues will not be cleared for boarding.”
The flight is part of India's Vande Bharat mission to take home Indians stranded overseas amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
As many as 178 Indians left Doha for Kochi on Saturday evening onboard the first repatriation flight from Qatar.
