Qatar Pharma will set up a production line for face masks by the end of April with a capacity to churn out 6 million pieces a month, its Chairman Dr Ahmed Mohamed al Sulaiti has said.
The masks produced by Qatar Pharma will be of “surgical type” and will significantly cover the local demand, noted Dr Ahmed, pointing out that the production line was being readied by specialised technicians.
Dr Ahmed also highlighted that Qatar Pharma recently developed a herbal medicine that he said would increase the efficiency of the human immune system and provides therapeutic benefits.
“We have conducted clinical tests of this product and are currently awaiting the approval of the Ministry of Public Health," Dr Ahmed said, expressing belief that the product will be ready for mass production in a short time.
“The components of this product are herbal. It consists of six types of herbs known for their ability to raise the efficiency of the immune system,” he said.
Dr Ahmed pointed out that it has been tried on many people and has proven highly efficient in strengthening the immune system and since this is a medicinal product it cannot be commercialized until after obtaining the Ministry of Health's discussion.
