The new tally raises the total infected cases to 1,075. Meanwhile, 21 more people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 93.
Some of the new cases tested positive on Friday were among those who returned to Qatar from abroad and were in quarantine upon arrival. Others include contacts of those diagnosed with the virus earlier and expatriate workers.
Currently, 976 patients are under treatment for COVID-19 in Qatar, which has carried out 28,413 virus tests as of Friday.
While no fatality has been reported on Friday, the virus has so far claimed three lives since the outbreak. All the victims are aged above 55 and had been suffering from chronic diseases.
