Two coronavirus transmission patterns have been identified in Qatar, Supreme Committee for Crisis Management spokesperson HE Lolwah bint Rashid al Khater has said.
In a press conference held in Doha on Thursday, she said the first transmission chain was identified among expatriates.
It is considered a community spread, she added.
The second is among citizens and it is not community spread, Khater said.

"The coming period is crucial for breaking the transmission chains in Qatar, and this requires the participation of all. Individuals taking the necessary precautions for themselves is the prime factor that helps us contain the virus," she said.
In another major announcement, she said home quarantine has been approved as a second option for families coming to Qatar from abroad, provided they sign a pledge to remain under self-isolation for the stipulated period and subject themselves to periodic medical check-ups.
Khater also strongly warned against spreading rumours and fake news and urged the public to get the news from trusted and official sources.
The official also reiterated the need for public participation to break the chain of infection by staying away from others as far as possible.
“Don’t go out unnecessarily,” she urged the public as she called for concerted efforts to slow the spread of Covid-19.
