Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) launched a media campaign in several languages on social media to educate residents of different nationalities about the risks of coronavirus and the precaution methods.
This is in line with QMC's endeavours to contribute to the national and governmental efforts in combating the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
This awareness campaign was organized with the participation of various media outlets including some of the leading local radio stations: Suno & Olive Radio in Hindi, Malayalam and Sinhala (Sri Lanka), FM 107 Qatar in Urdu and Hindi, Radio Qabayan 94.3 in Filipino in addition to Chandrika newspaper (Malayalam) .
The awareness campaign aims to contribute in reducing the spread of coronavirus by producing videos in different languages to be published on the most popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. This will support QMS’s goals to reach the largest possible number of targeted groups.
The videos will focus on the most important information such as the necessity of maintaining personal hygiene including household hygiene , the difference between isolation and quarantine, proposed ideas to do while staying at home such as exercises , and ensuring food hygiene to protect themselves and their families.
Qatar Media Corporation clarified that this initiative will support in reaching the largest number of community members from foreign nationalities coming from several countries that aren’t familiar with Arabic or English languages, thus raise their level of awareness to take the necessary health measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
