A Thailand national on Tuesday gave birth to a baby onboard a Qatar Airways flight with the help of cabin crew, accoridng reports in the Indian media.
 The flight had to make an emergency landing at the Kolkata airport while it was on its way to Bangkok from Doha, reported India Today. 

"Delighted to welcome a new member on the flight last night. We'll be waiting for the baby's call in 20 years time to join us in the flight deck," read a tweet from Qatar Airway's official handle.
The 23-year-old woman went in labour aboard the flight and the cabin crew assisted her with her delivery. The baby was born around 3 am and the flight landed at 3:15 am at Kolkata.
The pilot of Qatar Airways asked for 'SOS' signal at Kolkata Air Traffic Control and made a priority landing over the medical emergency.
The aircraft made the emergency landing in Kolkata and the woman was admitted to a private hospital here. Both the mother and the baby are doing fine.
"An unscheduled flight from Doha to Bangkok QR-830 landed around 03:09 am at Kolkata airport in medical priority landing. The pilot of Qatar flight had asked SOS to ATC for medical priority landing. The flight landed safely, the airport team with the doctor was attending the concerned." Kolkata Airport official said while speaking to ANI
