Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) is delighted to announce the launch of its preview service for the Doha Metro Green Line and the inclusion of 4 new Red Line stations.
The Green Line preview service which runs from Mansoura in the east to Al Riffa in the west introduces all 11 stations along the line, including The White Palace, Hamad Hospital,  Al Messila, Al Rayyan Al Qadeem, Al Shaqab, Qatar National Library, and Education City,  as well as the opening of the Green line interchanges at Msheireb and Al Bidda.
Commenting on this milestone progress, Eng. Jassim Al Ansari, Green Line Project Director at Qatar Rail, said: “The launch of the Green Line preview service is expected to significantly increase the number of customers using the metro. It acts as an East and West connection for Doha, and will serve new residential areas and tourist destinations, including Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar Foundation, Qatar National Library and the Mall of Qatar, further facilitating the movement of people to more locations, cultural attractions and lifestyle destinations across the city.”.
The Green Line preview service hours remain the same as the current Red and Gold Line preview, from 0600hrs to 2300hrs, Saturday to Thursday and from 1400hrs to 2300hrs on Fridays, with trains operating every 5 minutes.
Aditionally, 4 new Red Line stations will be opened including Hamad International Airport, Katara, Qatar University, and Lusail, bringing the total number of stations open across the network to 36*.
The opening of the station at Hamad International Airport enables a seamless “Plane to Train” experience for those arriving in Qatar, offering fast and frequent services from the airport to the major cultural, tourist and business districts of Doha, meaning it’s now easier than ever for visitors to explore everything the city has to offer.
Interchanges are available between the Green and Red Lines at Al Bidda station, and the Red, Green and Gold Lines at Msheireb station. When interchanging between stations, customers are not required to tap in and out as long as they remain in the paid area.  All journeys, including those requiring an interchange will cost 2 QAR in our standard and family class carriages and 10 QAR in goldclub carriage.
metrolink, Qatar Rail’s feeder bus service (operated by our partner Mowasalat) will also see new routes added. metrolink services act as a seamless facilitator for customers getting to and from metro stations and their surrounding areas. Metro customers can view available metrolink routes by downloading the Doha Metro mobile app or by visiting the website.
