President of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi was accorded a grand welcome at the Amiri Diwan, complete with a guard of honour parade, on Monday morning, where the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani hosted a banquet for him and the accompanying delegation.
The Amir and the visiting president held a session of official talks and witnessed the signing of several memorandums of understanding on cooperation in the fields of defence, youth and sports, culture and political consultations between Qatar and Botswana. The talks dealt with the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, especially in the fields of investment, minerals, infrastructure and air transport. They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
The agreement signings were attended by several ministers.
