Qatar's National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) has voiced great concern over the escalation in hate speeches and incitement to violence against Qatar by some media outlets, including social media sites, in the blockading countries.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the NHRC said it has monitored hundreds of instances of hate speech and incitement to violence like targeting Qatar with terrorist and subversive operations, attacking its media, and baleful dramas and music videos to intimidate citizens and residents of Qatar.
The committee monitored a speech laced with racial discrimination aimed at Qatari citizens, which escalated violently due to the involvement of some public figures, and some well-known media personalities of blockading countries.
The NHRC said it deeply regrets this misguided conduct and irresponsible behaviour contravening the principles and charters of human rights, threatening peace, security and stability of the entire Gulf region.
The NHRC has called upon the authorities in Qatar to take necessary legal measures, including prosecuting those responsible for the discourse of hatred and incitement to violence.
