The Department of Architecture and Urban Planning (DAUP) and the Office of Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at Qatar University College of Engineering (QU-CENG) recently held the first inaugural professorial lecture on 'Next Generation Buildings'.
The lecture was delivered by Dr Kas Oosterhuis, professor of Architecture and Urban Design at DAUP.
Attendees included CENG Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies Prof Abbes Amira, DAUP Head Dr Fodil Fadli and CENG faculty and students as well as guests from industry and governmental institutions such as Qatar Green Building Council, Qatar Hospitality, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Qatar Museums and Autodesk.
Dr Oosterhuis said,"This lecture underlines the value of integrating art with architecture and the ways to align logic with intuition, which leads to strong architectural power-lines through discussing the interactive adaptive parametric architectural design.
"It also highlights the importance of connecting with clients and all project partners in an empathic exchange in order to optimise the design and to better respond to society needs."
