Qatar Cyclists Centre is excited by the encouraging response from participants ahead of this Friday's Ride of Champions (www.rocdoha.qa), presented by the Qatar Tourism Authority and funded by the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
Two of Qatar's endurance cycling giants Ali bin Towar al Kuwari and Abdulla al Hammadi got on their bikes to explore Doha in preparation for the ride on November 24.
The Ride of Champions has nearly got the required entries. Some spots are still available for the family and beginners rides on closed roads in Qatar Foundation, as well as Kids events at the Oxygen Park.
Ali and Abdulla are two of Qatar's most inspiring cyclists. Ali recently rode through 21 Latin American countries while making an Al Jazeera documentary and Abdulla has just returned from cycling 2,278 kms in Japan.
Cycling fans may join both Ali and Abdulla on November 24 at the Ride of Champions. Online entries are scheduled to close on November 20 (Monday) at midnight with limited walk-up entries available on Wednesday and Thursday night from 5-8pm behind the ceremonial court at Qatar Foundation.
The ROC event is presented by Qatar Tourism Authority and partnered by Qatar Cyclists Centre, the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Qatar Cycling Federation, Qatar Foundation, Ooredoo, Rayyan Water and GMC. Garmin, Rasen Sports, Carbon Wheels, Al Shaqab and Adidas Eyewear are also supporting it.
