Dr Hamid Ghareeb, consultant at HMC's Medical Administration Department and medical supervisor of the Sealine Medical Clinic, said the clinic will operate every weekend during the camping season. It will remain open each Thursday from 3pm until 5pm on Saturday. He said services will be available until the end of April when the camping season closes.
The clinic, which will also provide services during public holidays, will receive patients with minor health concerns, as well as emergency cases.
Dr Ghareeb said the Sealine Medical Clinic is supported by HMC's Ambulance Service, providing campers with round-the-clock access to a team of paramedics and well-equipped ambulance vehicles.
The clinic also features a helicopter landing area to transfer patients from the beach to the clinic, and to transfer acute cases to hospital.
Saleh Nasser al Mejareh al Marri, operations manager for HMC's Ambulance Service, said in addition to its regular round-the-clock emergency coverage in the Sealine area, the Ambulance Service has added two ambulances and two 4x4 emergency vehicles which will be permanently stationed in the area.
"The Ambulance Service is ready to transport emergency cases from the sand dune area to the clinic or to the helicopter landing area, as required. During public holidays and weekends, the number of ambulances onsite will be increased to six and the number of 4x4 emergency vehicles will be increased to four," he added.
The ceremony to open the clinic was attended by Ali Abdullah al Khater, HMC chief communications officer chair of the Healthcare Communications Committee, and Saleh Hasan al Kuwari, director of the Natural Reserve Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. A number of senior leaders and administrators from HMC attended the event.
