A ministry in a GCC country has been found to be involved in the hacking of Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Attorney General HE Dr Ali bin Fetais al Marri has revealed.
Appearing in Al Jazeera TV's show titled 'Bila Hudud' (Without Borders), Marri said that the circumstances of the crime will be announced once the investigation is completed.
Marri stressed that the unjust siege imposed by the four countries on Qatar is illegal and hacking QNA is a full-fledged crime which is, therefore, punishable by the international law.
He said that from the first day of the siege a high committee was set up to follow up with all cases filed by those affected by the siege including citizens and residents.
He said the siege-related cases are divided into two categories with the first including cases concerning the country, which are addressed to the aviation and international trade organisations, and the second having cases related to individuals and would be brought before the international courts.
As for Qatar's role in fighting terrorism, Qatar has signed a memorandum of understanding with the United States on counter-terrorism, he pointed out.
He said that there are four people who are on the terrorism list, all of whom are currently in prison and being tried according to the law.
