QATAR General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) in collaboration with Blood Donor Centre at Hamad Medical Corporation organised a blood donation camp recently.
A number of Kahramaa employees donated blood voluntarily at the camp as a humanitarian gesture so that patients could be helped during emergencies such as accidents.
The camp organised by the Health, Safety & Environment Department of Kahramaa was held in front of Kahramaa's main building from 8am to 2pm, where a mobile unit of the HMC, including medical staff and nurses, was stationed to facilitate blood donation.
The camp is part of Kahramaa's drive to promote blood storage in Qatar and comes within its corporate social responsibility initiative.
The initiative also seeks to strengthen communication and cooperation between Kahramaa and the health institutions in the State and raise awareness of the benefits of blood donation for the donor.
