QATAR Tourism Authority (QTA) is supporting INDEX Qatar, the new interior design event taking place in Doha from November 13 to 15.
The three-day exhibition will bring together designers and architects of international acclaim to provide an all-encompassing design experience to visitors.
The show will also include daily seminars featuring many of the region's most influential and creative design minds, as well as a host of interactive features across the exhibition floor.
Ahmed al Obaidli, director of Exhibitions at Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), said:"Business events is a key sub-sector of Qatar's overall tourism sub-sector, and is set for continued growth thanks to world-class facilities, unique connectivity via Qatar Airways, and varied hospitality options that suit the needs of all kinds of travellers. Firms appearing at INDEX include La Sorogeeka, Jotun, Mezzaluna, Cristal de Paris and Stil D`cor.
The event is proving a major draw for designers, buyers, contractors and suppliers all working across what is a booming interiors industry. Spend on interior fit-out projects has skyrocketed across the Gulf of late. In the last year alone, the fit-out market has grown by more than US$2.2billion, and is now estimated at being worth $17.7 billion-per-annum.
An exclusive INDEX report by market analysts Ventures concluded that interior design is one of Qatar's"fastest growing industries".
Jaafar Shubber continued:"Despite universal challenges, the ambition of designers, architects and construction professionals in Qatar continues to drive the future of design. The country will be the stage for some of the world's biggest events over the next decade. Entwined with the Qatar National Vision 2030, the growth in the hospitality, commercial real estate, retail, health and hospitals, and education markets are huge, and offer massively exciting possibilities."
INDEX Qatar is expected to attract thousands of interior designers, architects, project managers, importers and distributors from the full spectrum of retail, hospitality, residential and commercial design.
