Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani thanked Turkey for supporting the Kuwaiti mediation to resolve the Gulf crisis and Qatar's stand in favour of dialogue to resolve the crisis.
He was speaking at the third session of the Supreme Strategic Committee between Qatar and Turkey, which opened in Ankara on Monday.
The meeting was jointly chaired by Qatar's Foreign Minister and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister discussed with Cavusoglu the relations between the two countries in various fields, and reviewed the outcome of the meeting of senior officials of the Supreme Strategic Committee held in Doha on September 28. The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.
The Foreign Minister commended the success of the Turkish Government in hosting the second session of the Supreme Strategic Committee, which resulted in the signing of 14 bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding.
The Turkish Foreign Minister said that his country is continuing diplomatic efforts and meetings with the parties to the Gulf crisis in order to resolve the issue as soon as possible, while lauding Qatar's positive attitude.
Earlier in the day, the Foreign Minister met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. They discussed bilateral relations and means to develop them, in addition to a range of issues of common concern.
Sheikh Mohammed also met Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Berat al Bayrak.
