The Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) will host a semina,"Maritime Navigation and Maritime Transport Contracts in Qatar", at the end of this month, a press release said on Saturday.
The seminar will discuss the most important legal and practical aspects of maritime transport activities and contracts concluded between them, through Hamad Port, which was officially opened recently.
The seminar will shed light on Qatar's maritime fleet and how it will be used in the export of oil and liquefied natural gas to various countries. It will also discuss the obligations resulting from the conclusion of contracts of maritime transport between the owner of the ship and the supplier or the owner of the goods, as well as the legal sanctions resulting from the breach of the contracting obligations of both parties.
The seminar to be held at the Qatar Chamber's headquarters, will discuss the role of Qatari banks and financial institutions in the financing of import and export contracts. Board Member of QICCA Thani Bin Ali al Thani said the seminar aims at spreading the culture of arbitration in the field of business and commerce, besides ensuring that each party has full rights and to avoid contract breaching.
