THE Zakat Fund at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs provided aid worth QR2.2 million for 232 needy families in Qatar this year, the Fund has said.
In a statement, the Fund said the amount included permanent assistance provided on a monthly basis and intermittent assistance which is provided for specific needs.
Zakat Fund pointed out that the aid was provided in accordance with the Sharia regulations and after conducting research to estimate the real need of the families in order to ensure that the Zakat of the people of Qatar goes to the actual beneficiaries. (QNA)
