Kuwait's Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled al Jarallah has voiced optimism over the efforts of the Emir of Kuwait HH Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah in resolving the Gulf crisis.
He expressed hope that the dispute would be settled before Kuwait's hosting of the GCC summit in December, according to the official Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.
Meanwhile, British Ambassador to Kuwait Michael Davenport reaffirmed his country's support for Kuwait's mediation efforts to end the Gulf crisis, a KUNA report has said.
The ambassador's remarks came at a meeting with the Kuwaiti media on the occasion of assuming his duties, at the British embassy in Kuwait.
"British Foreign Minister's recent visit to Kuwait was aimed at strengthening the position of Kuwaiti mediation," the envoy told media representatives.
Meanwhile in Cairo, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit also expressed the organisation's support to the Kuwaiti mediation.
"At the level of the general secretariat of the Arab League we expressed support for the Kuwaiti mediation efforts," he said, explaining that the League's stand is not to intervene in the issue.
