Ali Bin Ali (ABA) Group's medical division team held a series of business-to-business (B2B) talks with the Bangladeshi pharmaceuticals trade delegation, during their recent visit to Doha, to explore new avenues of cooperation in the field of medicine.
The Bangladesh trade delegation comprised CEO's of some of Dhaka's leading pharmaceutical companies.
ABA's Chief Financial Officer, Iftekhar Ahmad said such meetings would help diversify their company's resources by adding new trading partners.
In an interview with Qatar Tribune, he said,"The unjust siege imposed on Qatar by the Saudi-led bloc, has opened the doors for ABA to diversify its resources. We are looking at Bangladesh as a source country with excellent economic indicators as one of our reliable trading partners."
He noted,"Bangladesh has many opportunities for our medical division unit, as the country offers high quality drugs and pharmaceuticals, at a much lower price compared to many other countries in the world, especially after the blockade."
"We are negotiating with many Bangladeshi companies, including some in this delegation, to find out possibilities of setting up production units in Doha by forming joint ventures,"Ahmad added.
Bangladesh has a huge reservoir of talented human resource that includes educated and professional people, he said.
Ahmad also thanked the Bangladeshi embassy for holding such a seminar, which highlighted Dhaka's huge potential, as the country has much more to offer especially in the field of latest technologies.
"Bangladesh is one of the leaders in the field of garment manufacturing. The country's pharmaceutical, porcelain and fisheries are well known over the world. There is a huge untapped potential for trade exchange between Doha and Dhaka,"he said.
