Qatar has taken the unjust blockade imposed on it by the Saudi Arabia-led bloc to the global stage with Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani briefing leaders and officials of many countries about the humanitarian repercussions of the siege, in New York.
On the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Minister met Somalian Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Angelino Alfano, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia Julie Bishop.
Sheikh Mohammed told the leaders that dialogue is the only way to resolve the ongoing Gulf crisis.
The FM also discussed the latest regional and international developments with the leaders.
Sheikh Mohammed also met President of International Crisis Group Jean-Marie Guehenno.
They discussed relations between Qatar and the group, joint efforts to prevent bloody clashes and settle disputes around the world.
The Foreign Minister also participated in a high-level event on Libya in New York.
The meeting was aimed to review the progress achieved, formulate a political commitment to a sustainable solution to the Libyan crisis and strengthen international coordination to support Libyan institutions in security, humanitarian assistance and social and economic development.
