POPULAR Nepali television music reality show 'Nepal Idol' will host its grand finale at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha on September 22.
Announcing this at a press conference held at Shalimar Hotel in Doha recently, the organisers said that the event was expected to attract an audience of 15,000 people to cheer the four finalists.
The performances of the four finalists namely Buddha Lama, Nishan Bhattarai, Pratap Das and Sagar Ale will be judged by a panel of three judges including Nhyoo Bajracharya, Indira Joshi and Kali Prasad Baskota.
The winner of the show will be bestowed with the title 'Nepal Idol'. This is the first edition of the Nepali music reality show, which is modelled after Indian music reality show 'Indian Idol'.
The four final contestants will showcase their singing talents in front of Nepali expatriates in Qatar which will be aired on one of the popular Nepalese television channel AP1. Nepal Idol seeks to bring out singing talents among Nepali youth.
Sagar Nepal, a Doha-based Nepali entrepreneur, expressed his happiness over the show producers' decision to host the grand finale in Qatar."It will certainly project Qatar as a favourable destination for workers seeking jobs abroad," he said.
According to him, this programme will also motivate talented members of the Nepalese expatriate community to nurture their talents and help them fight their sense of loneliness while being away from home.
Besides the four finalists, the show's 12 other participants, who could not make it to the finals, will perform in the finals too, the organisers said.
