Qatargas and RasGas have successfully completed the first co-loading of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for split delivery, the companies said in a statement on Sunday.
f0"This innovative method of multi-port delivery of a single LNG cargo from two separate suppliers represents a new level of operational flexibility and supply chain efficiency in the LNG industry," it said.
Prior to this"world-class" development, the established practice was to load a single cargo for delivery to a single location supplied by a single seller.
Qatargas and RasGas co-loaded the cargoes at the Ras Laffan terminal in Qatar on the Q-Flex LNG vessel, Al Khuwair. The cargoes were delivered to the Zeebrugge LNG Terminal in Belgium and the South Hook LNG Terminal in the United Kingdom respectively.
Saad Sherida al Kaabi, Qatar Petroleum President and CEO and Chairman of Qatargas Board of Directors, said,"We are delighted to have achieved this key industry milestone through the hard work and dedication of the Qatargas and RasGas teams, vessel operators and our LNG customers. This remarkable achievement underscores our commitment to sustaining Qatar's position as the world's premier LNG supplier."
The milestone also underlines the two energy companies' commitment to supporting innovative solutions that achieve greater efficiency, flexibility and optimisation of resources, while meeting customer needs. Advancements such as multi-port delivery, coupled with a global reputation for safe and reliable operations, have uniquely positioned Qatar's LNG suppliers in an ever-competitive and continuously evolving market.
