General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti on Tuesday met with Ambassador of South Africa to Qatar HE Prof Shirish Soni to strengthen the mutual cultural relations between the two countries.
The ambassador highlighted the screening of a South African movie entitled 'One Humanity', which is scheduled to take place at Katara's Drama Theatre on August 29.
The ambassador emphasised that the film would address aspects regarding the South African history while highlighting essential facts on how South Africans united as a nation regardless of racism.
During the meeting, the ambassador initiated a South African festival to take place in October, which is promised to feature various events, activities and surprises that emphasise South African culture.
Dr Sulaiti welcomed the proposal and stated that Katara provides an artistic platform to host a diverse array of events with an aim to shed light on various cultures and civilisations.
The Katara chief presented a souvenir to the South African ambassador.
He also met with Ambassador of Croatia to Qatar HE Tomislav Bosnjak on the occasion of the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Doha.
The Croatian ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Cultural Village for its unceasing efforts to host various activities and events all year long, providing visitors the opportunity to witness a wide array of cultures.
At the end of the meeting, Dr Sulaiti presented a souvenir to the Croatian ambassador and wished him all the success in his future assignments.
