Turkish frigate TCG Gokova has arrived at Hamad Port to join the Turkish forces in the country and participate in a number of naval exercises and joint military exercises between the two countries, the Directorate of Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Defence has announced.
The directorate said that the exercises between the Qatari Emiri Navy and its Turkish counterpart will be held in the areas of the Hamad Port, Doha Naval base and Qatari territorial waters. Manned by a 214-member crew, TCG Gokova is one of the most modern frigates of the Turkish Armed Forces.
The exercises come within the framework of joint military cooperation between Qatar and the sisterly Republic of Turkey to combat terrorism and violent extremism. (QNA)
