Filipino community in Qatar has been working efficiently in all sectors and is recognised for their excellence by the Qatari society, Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber (QC), Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Towar said.
He said this during the chamber's meeting with a business delegation from the Philippines in Doha on Saturday.
The meeting discussed the latest developments of the Filipino community working in Qatar and reviewed areas of cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
Towar noted that the chamber and Qatari business owners have been honoured to meet with the President of the Philippines during this year to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
He stressed that the law regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their new residence takes into account the rights of employment in a large extent and there is close cooperation between the chamber and all concerned parties to resolve any obstacles facing employment in Qatar.
He added that the chamber was satisfied with the performance of Filipino workers in terms of quality and efficiency.
Administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Hans Leo Cacdac, head of the visiting delegation, said that the Filipino community has expressed their satisfaction with the working conditions in Qatar.
He also highlighted the marked progress Qatar has achieved in the field of labour by providing suitable environment for workers.
Cacdac pointed out that his country is interested in the training and rehabilitation of the workers before entering the labour market with knowledge of the English language and the laws of Qatar.
