PRESIDENT of State Audit Bureau of Qatar Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud al Thani took part in the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) Leadership and Stakeholder Meeting organised by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) at the UN headquarters in New York on 'Auditing Preparedness for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) 2030'.
The meeting brings together leadership of international SAIs, leaders of specialised international and regional organisations along with a number of audit and sustainable development experts.
Discussion was held around the main objectives of the cooperative performance audit of preparedness for SDG implementation to be conducted by SAIs and will also consider the distinctive nature of the audit approach to be used for the audit.
These main themes were discussed in terms of qualification of auditors, integration of government policies and procedures, the role of key stockholders to achieve these goals, basic indicators and basic data as well as the role of SAIs in the implementation of development priorities and SDGs.
The participation in this meeting affirms the State Audit Bureau of Qatar's commitment to actively participate in international organisations and their various activities and events. (QNA)
