SEVENTEEN Qatar Museums (QM) employees became the fourth generation of graduates to complete Qreation Generation 4, QM's most prestigious development programme designed to shape the future arts and cultural leaders of the organisation.
The talented group celebrated their significant achievements at a graduation ceremony and gala dinner that took place on Tuesday evening at Alain Ducasse's award-winning restaurant IDAM, which is situated on the top floor of the iconic Museum of Islamic Art.
The event saw the employees present their final group project presentations, which they worked on during the eight-month long programme. The event was attended by HE Sheikha al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, Qatar Museums' Chairperson, Mansoor bin Ebrahim al-Mahmoud, Chief Executive Officer and Special Advisor to HE the Chairperson and other senior representatives of QM.
The latest Qreation Generation 4 programme gathered employees from various departments across QM. The programme, which was first initiated in 2013 by HE Sheikha al Mayassa, covers management of cultural institutions and leadership curriculum, and is custom-tailored specifically for QM.

Qreation Generation 4 covers arts management lectures, discussions, hands-on workshops and case studies looking at key issues facing cultural institutions today. Furthermore, leadership workshops, consisting of individual work with leadership experts, advance one's self-awareness, while group discussions and debates probe into the essence of leadership efficiency.
Four group projects were presented in total throughout the evening: Group 1 presented their project which aims to develop an alternative setting and consumption habits of art;Group 2's work looked at graffiti art and how this art consumption can be used to develop a sense of belonging to the Qatari community;Group 3's project focused on supporting national capacity building through a special programme for middle school children that introduces them to careers in the arts and cultural fields: curation, archaeology and conservation; and Group 4 presented their project titled 'Museum on Wheels', which aims to bring the museum culture closer to local communities and tourists.
The graduates, 16 of whom were Qatari, were awarded a diploma from QM. They have already received a certificate from the Center for Creative Leadership, a renowned global provider of leadership development.
Qreation Generation is overseen by QM's Department of Education. The programme, which is held every year, was created in consultation with international experts from the Erasmus University in The Hague and The Center for Creative Leadership from Brussels.
