DOHA Qatar has enough of food supply and there is no shortage, Sheikh Jassim bin Jaber al Thani, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), has said."We have a surplus of food supply. There is a huge stock of all kinds of products. We have an emergency plan in place to tackle any shortage of food items," he said, adding that the importers have enough stock of food items. He urged the citizens and residents not to panic and not create scenes at malls and behave rationally. He said most of the food items are being imported to the country through the sea and air and closure of land borders will have no impact. Export of Qatari products is going on as usual, he said. The prices of all food items will remain stable, he added. Abdulla bin Nasser Turki al Subaie, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, said the Gulf Arab countries who have closed the airspace to Qatar comprise only 7 percent of the total operations daily."There's no disruption in flight operations and it is running as per normal. Citizens and resident will not face any impact," he said.
