Doha In a breather for motorists during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Energy and Industry has reduced the prices of diesel and super gasoline. However, the price of premium grade petrol remains unchanged.
According to the ministry, the 95-octane super gasoline (petrol) will cost QR1.65 a litre next month instead of QR1.70 now, while the price of diesel will come down to QR1.55 a litre in June, a decrease of 5 dirhams from the May price.
However, there will be no change in the price of premium gasoline, which will remain at QR1.60 a litre in June.
Fuel prices in Qatar were allowed to fluctuate in response to changes in the global market from May 1 last year. Every month, a special committee comprising representatives from various government bodies would review fuel prices and make recommendations on proposed prices for the local market accordingly. (tnn)
