EDUCATION Above All (EAA) foundation, through its programme Reach Out To Asia (Rota), has announced its Ramadan 2017 Project.
The project is an engaging annual event for volunteers, supporters and community beneficiaries in Qatar that brings together like-minded individuals of all ages, races and walks of life who share a common interest in collectively serving their community and making a positive difference in the lives of people in need.
Bringing together around 200 local volunteers, the Rota Ramadan 2017 Project features a series of activities that aim to contribute to different communities in Qatar, and connect volunteers with the true spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan. To effectively deliver the campaign, Rota is collaborating with a number of local partners, including Hamad Medical Corporation and the Gulf Contracting Company.
This year, volunteers will share iftar meals with residents of Ehsan the Center for Elderly Care and Empowerment and Rumailah Hospital's Residential Care Community. Rota will also coordinate iftars where volunteers will interact and engage with labourers in Doha, Al Shamal and Al Khor.
Furthermore, volunteers will visit various Hamad Hospital facilities such as the Fahad Bin Jassim Dialysis Centre & the Inaya Elderly & Special Needs Centre to interact with patients and share smiles and joy as well as small gestures of Ramadan goodwill. In addition, Rota volunteers will celebrate Garangao with the Children's Rehabilitation Centre at Hamad Medical City where children will enjoy traditional party games, face painting, arts and crafts and receive small gifts.
To kick off the Ramadan 2017 Project, Rota recently hosted a volunteer recruitment event at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University Student Centre in Education City where volunteers learnt all about the activities and registered to participate in the project.
