Karachi bans swimming for 6 months after spate of drowning incidents

Karachi Pakistanis in the port megacity of Karachi have been banned from swimming in the sea for six months, authorities said on Wednesday, after a recent spate of drownings as residents sought relief from the scorching heat. Rescue workers and media have reported some 15 cases of drowning at beaches along the city's Arabian Sea coast over the past week. (AFP)
