Education minister meets Turkish varsity team
Minister of Education and Higher Education HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed al Hammadi met with a delegation of Turkish Ibn Khaldun University headed by Bilal Erdogan in Doha on Wednesday. Talks during the meeting dealt with aspects of cooperation in the fields of higher education and means of enhancing them. (QNA)
Shura Council panel discusses law on Qatar Chamber
The Advisory (Shura) Council's Financial and Economic Affairs Committee om Wednesday examined a draft law amending certain provisions of Law No. 11 of 1990 establishing the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI). The meeting was chaired by the committee's Rapporteur Mohammad Ajaj al Kubaisi. The Committee decided to invite Minister of Economy and Commerce HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed al Thani to attend its next meeting scheduled for Monday, May 29, 2017 to hear the ministry's point of view on the draft law. Portuguese president fetes Qatari envoy
President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has awarded the Order of National Merit of First Class 'Don Enrique' to Qatar's Ambassador to Portugal HE Adel Ali al Alkhal. Portuguese Ambassador to Qatar HE Antonio Manuel Moreira Correa decorated the outgoing Qatari ambassador on behalf of the president during a farewell ceremony hosted on the occasion of ending his tenure in Portugal and in appreciation for his efforts in promoting relations between the two countries.
