Qatar Charity (QC) has concluded the fifth edition of the 'National Programme to Reinforce a Code of Values' amidst wide participation of schools, parents, programme's sponsors and participants.
To mark the end of the programme, Qatar Charity organised a ceremony at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) where the students demonstrated their creative skills.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ali Ateeq al Abdullah, QC's executive director of Local Development, said:"Qatar Charity is indeed proud of the successful organisation of the fifth version of the 'National Programme to Reinforce a Code of Values' that had a considerable participation from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Qatari schools in various regions."
He added,"QC aims to activate value-based education in the community through the programme, which will mainly target schools through integrated and engaging educational and cultural content and by using creative and motivating methods for students.
"This will enable the students to constructively interact with their teachers and peers and to foster the value of respect for teachers, which is the main objective of the fifth version. Eighty-one schools from various Qatari regions and 140 participants took partd in the programme."
Abdullah stressed the need for all parties to play a role in raising moral awareness among young people to help them shoulder life responsibilities.
He thanked the programme's sponsors, including the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), Qur'an Kareem Radio and Tarbeya Centre for Future Leaders as well as teachers, supervisors and parents for their efforts to achieve the programme's goal.
Tawfiq Osama, supervisor of 'How's Your Morning Going' radio programme, stated that Qur'an Kareem Radio was proud to partner with Qatar Charity on the programme, especially this edition that focused on the value of respect for the teacher.
Executive Director of Tarbeya Centre for Future Leaders Shawkat Taha thanked Qatar Charity for successfully organising the programme.
He said the programme has contributed to promoting the prestige of the teacher.
"The fifth edition truly simulated the real-world schools' experience and positively contributed to changing the behaviour of students and improving the educational outputs. We are looking forward to witnessing the commencement of the sixth version of the programme next year,"Taha said.
The winning schools in the various contests were announced at the end of the programme.
Three schools won the theatre award. They were Saud Bin Abdul-Rahman Model School for Boys, first place award, Al Shahaniya Model Boys School, second position and the West Gulf Model School for Boys, third position.
The drawing awards went to Al-Zaa'een Independent Primary School for Girls, Moza Bint Mohammed Girls Elementary School and Nusseibah Bint Ka'b Primary School for Girls.
Other awards presented included prizes for the best short story, YouTube movies, Nabati poetry, Instagram videos, Behaviour modification, Value-Reinforcement School, Value-Based Initiative and Value Reinforcement Student Councils.
