THE 32nd meeting of the GCC drug pricing committee has recommended the review of pricing rules for medicines and the executive regulation for the pricing of medicines centrally in the GCC nations.
The meet, hosted by the Ministry of Public Health, discussed for three days the ministerial and executive decisions and recommendations for the organisation of its work, in addition to comments made by firms and the report of the GCC workshop on challenges and solutions held in Riyadh in March.
Director of the Pharmacy and Drug Control Department at the Ministry of Public Health Dr Aisha Ibrahim al Ansari stressed the importance of the meeting to discuss issues that benefit the citizens and residents in the GCC nations in obtaining safe and effective medicine at reasonable prices. She said the panel contributed to the standardisation and reduction of the prices of several medicines in the GCC nations. (QNA)
