QATAR Charity (QC), in cooperation with Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), implemented a relief project for the displaced people of Mosul to reduce their financial burden and provide them with their basic needs.
The project is part of QC's humanitarian initiative in Iraq to alleviate the suffering of Iraqis and provide them with the necessary supplies as they face difficult conditions.
QC's Director of Relief Department Mohammed Alkaabi, said,"We provided this aid due to the difficult conditions in Mosul that displaced a large number of its families. They were forced to move to the neighbouring governorates and live in random, ill-equipped camps facing severe shortage of basic needs of water, food, medicine and blankets. The situation called for our rapid and immediate assistance".
Alkaabi added that the aid including food and non-food items at a cost of QR1 million benefited more than 21,000 people. The aid was distributed in the camps of Nergzliya, Qaimawa, Khazar, Hassan Sham, Laylan, Arbat and Erbil.
Alkaabi thanked the people of Qatar for their support to QC's campaigns to provide relief to their Iraqi brothers, calling upon them to continue their help and support.
It is noteworthy that QC had launched 'Save the People of Mosul' campaign to provide humanitarian relief for the displaced people of Mosul and established a fully equipped camp. It is worth mentioning that in conjunction with launching 'Save the People of Mosul' campaign, QC implemented a project to build a camp of 100 fully equipped tents and health facilities for the displaced people. During the last winter, QC in cooperation with the Islamic Propagation Organization (IPO) and Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) sent a humanitarian aid convoy to provide winter aid for displaced people of Mosul, which benefitted 25,000 people.
The aid convoy included blankets, bedclothes, food and other humanitarian requirements.
