Mother's Day, like for all, holds a special place in the heart of Deepshikha Deshmukh, the co-producer of Sarbjit and Sarvann.
Celebrating the occasion (celebrated in India on May 14) in Mumbai, Deepshikha (a mother of two herself) termed the role of mothers as 'unique and irreplaceable'.
"Successful mothers are not the ones who have never struggled. They are the ones that never give up, despite the struggles," she emphasised.
"My true pillar of strength is the leading woman of my life - my mother. She has always ensured that I reach for the things I've wanted and do it with determination and a sense of pride. I owe her everything I am today," she adds.
About her own role as a mother, the woman who wears many hats with distinction, said,"I strive everyday to be more like my own mother and pass on everything she has handed down to me to my little ones.
Born in Kolkata into a Sindhi family, Deepshikha is the daughter of producer Vashu Bhagnani and sister of actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani. She is the daughter-in-law of former chief minister of the western Indian state of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh.
"Being a mother is a feeling words cannot describe. My two adorable babies, Vansh (3 yrs) and Diviyanaa (19 months) complete me. They motivate me to be the best version of myself every single day."
On how difficult is it to balance the many roles of a mother, wife and an entrepreneur, Deepshikha says a good family helps a mother derive strength.
"Work and home is a task to balance, but I'm sure that every mother out there, working or not is faced with new challenges everyday. But you derive strength from your family. It is their smiling faces that bring comfort and happiness at the end of a tough day.
"I am tremendously blessed to have a supportive husband who is there at every step of the way. Dhiraj is my best friend and my most honest critic."
An upcoming filmmaker, Deepshikha has a dream to make a film with cine icon Jackie Chan. She had announced this during Chan's recent visit to India for the promotion of his upcoming film Kung Fu Yoga.
She is the spouse of Dhiraj Deshmukh, the younger brother of film actor Riteish Deshmukh.
Deepshikha debuted as a producer in 2016 with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda starrer Sarbjit.
