Actor Pavan Malhotra says he is happy to be associated with director Abhishek Jawkar's thriller Missing On A Weekend and added that he enjoyed doing the movie a lot.
"I have been associated with such a genre for the first time, thriller, murder mystery, it's actually a whodunit. It's very important to bring your audience to the edge of the seat, like when the audience starts thinking that this person or that person might have done it," Malhotra said in an interview.
"It's always an attempt to be a part of different kind of stories and this is one of them. I am very happy that I am part of Missing On A Weekend, and I'm thankful to Abhishek for having faith in me. I enjoyed doing this film a lot," he said.
Malhotra plays an investigative officer who finds himself in a high-profile case where five friends go missing and one is killed, when they are on a trip in Goa, and has just 48 hours to solve the case.
Malhotra liked the uniqueness of the characters and the actors playing them.
"If all of them become the same, all building six-packs and flaunting their muscles, having the same attitude, then what are we narrating the story about. And their uniqueness was the strength of the film," he said.
Missing On A Weekend stars veteran singer Hariharan's son Karan among others and is presented by The Red Bulb Studios and Adept Films and will hit the screens on June 24.
